I often write about making online marketing simple. It is—or at least, it should be.
But that does not mean it is easy to accomplish. It is, however, easy to give up.
What happens when your efforts seem to stall out? When you’re not sure you are making the impact you should be? When you’re not seeing the important numbers climb?
The Marketing Mindset
Much anxiety results from having an incorrect approach to selling and marketing your products.
It’s easy to throw a few hours and/or a few bucks at the campaign, evaluate results, and move on. We’re all guilty of this—myself included.
But good marketing requires an iterative mindset.
According to Principia Cybernetica,
An iterative process is a process for calculating a desired result by means of a repeated cycle of operations. An iterative process should be convergent, i.e., it should come closer to the desired result as the number of iterations increases.
In other words, your next “iteration” will start with the outcome of the first. Make some minor adjustments, then run the process again.
By doing this over and over again, you can fine-tune your marketing campaigns until you are producing the desired result.
Find It, Then Wear It Out
As soon as you land on a phase of the iterative process that works, keep driving home the EXACT same process until it is no longer working for you!
As we say sometimes here in the South, milk it until it’s dry!
When you find that ad that converts, that blog post topic that consistently funnels in new leads, that video scene that resonates with your audience, et cetera—keep it going until it stops producing results.
Don’t make the mistake of wiping the slate clean after each underperforming campaign.
Make small adjustments. One thing at a time.
To your success!
